Definitions

Responsibility-Responsible students take charge of their life and do the right thing. We all have to be responsible at home and at school.

 

Respect -

Respectful students:

1. Use good manners, not bad language

2. Are kind to others

3. Care for other people’s feelings

4. Do not touch or hurt other people, give people space

5. Are great listeners

6. Make everyone feel as if they are important

7. Are friendly to all people even if they look or act differently

 

Courtesy - Courteous Students are caring, friendly, helpful and polite.

 

Honesty - Students are considered honest if they do not lie, steal, cheat or betray others. Honest students tell the truth and can be trusted.

 

Choices - When faced with choices it is important to STOP and THINK about the consequences of each choice. Bad choices may have negative consequences.When you are faced with difficult choices you may want to ask an adult to help you decide between right and wrong.

 

FriendshipFriendship is showing that you like and care about other people.To have good friends you must be a good friend. Good friends help each other, they are caring, honest, respect each other and are fun to be around.

 

CooperationCooperative students work together with other students.Cooperative students respect their classmates. They listen to others ideas, they help each other and show courtesy.

 

EmpathyStudents who have empathy care for other people’s feelings and show that they understand how they feel.

 

Perseverance – Students with perseverance word hard, try their very best and never give up.The next time you are ready to give up, take advice from the little engine that could and say, “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.”

 

Pride –Students who have pride feel good about themselves and their accomplishments. You may feel pride if you get a good grade on a test or if your team wins a game.
