The School Counseling Program promotes and enhances student achievement.

The TES Guidance Counseling Program focuses on three domains:

Academic Development

Career Development

Personal/Social Development

The role of the School Counselor is to:

  • Maximize student achievement, social, and career development.
  • Advocate for equal access for students to instructional programs, and activities.
  • Collaborate with families, school, and community members to achieve common goals for the education of students.

Individual Counseling (Click for more):One on one interaction between the student and the counselor.

Small Group Counseling (Click for more):Students that share a common concern meet together with the counselor. During group sessions students engage in discussion and interact in activities.

Classroom Guidance (Click for more):The counselor enters the classroom once a month for 30 minutes. During the 30 minute time frame the counselor conducts a lesson based on the character trait of the month or a specific academic or social issue that needs to be addressed.

Career Development (Click for more):The counselor teaches students the concepts of job and career. Students begin to understand and demonstrate the decision making process and goal setting. Students learn the importance of individual effort, persistence, and teamwork.
