     Third grade teachers are really excited about the upcoming school year. We would like to inform you of some important information.

Homework:
       
All homework assignments will be written on the board daily. It is your child’s responsibility to copy it down in his/her TES agenda book. Please go over your child’s homework assignments and help make corrections.

  Click this link to see the homework schedule.   This will let you know what kind of assignments your child will have each day.

Friday Folders:
    The teachers will send home “Friday Folders” that will contain your child’s work from the week. The whole school is beginning a new system having the children present their work to their parents. So, your child will bring home the folder every Friday. Your child will need to present his weekly work to you. Inside the folder will be two forms to be signed. The first will be signed by you and your child, showing that he has presented his work to you. The second is a form from the teacher. Please be sure that both forms are signed weekly. This folder serves as a communication tool, so please return it to school by Tuesday at the latest. Homework sheets and any important notes from school will be placed in the daily homework folder.

Breakfast/Lunch:

        TES breakfast/lunch program is the same as last year. Lunch and breakfast can be bought on a pre-paid basis once a week. If you chose to pay by check, it should be made out to Tappahannock Elementary School.

Cost of Lunches and Breakfasts:

Breakfast: $1.00 Reduced Breakfast: $0.30
Lunch: $1.75 Reduced Lunch: $0.40
Milk: $0.30 Ice cream $0.60
Juice $0.50

Supplies:
       
All students need the required supplies in order for us to proceed with instruction. As the year progresses, please check frequently for any materials that need to be replenished and do so promptly. If you have any difficulty providing any of your child’s supplies, for any reason, please contact the teacher. We’ll see what we can do to help.

Parents/ Guardians, you are such an important part of your child’s education. You can help by encouraging your child to study and complete his/her daily assignments. Encourage your child to be responsible for everything he /she will do in or out of school. We are confident this year will be a successful learning experience for your child, and we thank you for your support.
