Essex County Public Schools receives funding through federal program grants including Title I, Title IIA, Title III, and Title V.  The Title I grant emphasizes improving the academic achievement of the disadvantaged.  This grant funds supplemental assistance including literacy and mathematics coaches, tutoring, and specialized computer programs. The Title II grant addresses teacher quality.  Services provided through Title II include professional development for teachers and administrators, tuition assistance for teachers, and praxis exam fees for additional endorsements requested by ECPS.  Title III supports language instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant students through the Parents as Educational Partners program and supplemental instructional materials.  The Title V grant is for rural and low income schools. This grant supplements programs at Essex High School.
